We're two non-binary dykes who love to read (plus a black cat called Wednesday who likes climbing inside our bookshelves). We're slowly trying to make our bookseller dreams come true, so watch this space for future pop-ups and in person events. 

The Grey Area started out as a monthly book club and writing group hosted in The Whitworth in Manchester which Grey will continue to host - you can check out the dates here.

All books will be carefully curated by Grey and Niamh and will focus on lesbian and trans stories. As we grow, we will expand to other queer and radical texts, plus 'grey area' books which defy genres. 

Don't see what you want but want to support us still? We have a Book Requests page where you can request any book you like, if we can stock it, we will order it for you!

If you're into audiobooks you can support us through Libro.fm - we've set up a playlist of some of our recommendations.

Alternatively, look through our collections on bookshop.org or buy whatever you want (even if it's not gay) to sling us 10% of the book price (+ another 30% will go into the pot for other Indies).
